People sometimes get Blog Posts and Forum Discussions confused. When do we use each? 

In general, use a Forum Discussion when you want two way interaction or to post attachments. Forum discussions are well suited for back and forth discussions with other members. They also allow attachments. 

Blog posts, on the other hand, are generally reserved for one way communication. People CAN and do comment on Blog posts, but the back and forth is not as clean. Consider expert advice or announcements to be good candidates for Blog posts.
