FYI, if any of you are interested in aviation check out http://flighttraining.aopa.org/students/ there are many great free (mostly) on line resources. AOPA has a pay side also but http://www.faasafety.gov/and http://aviationweather.gov/ (that's a NOAA site) are free.If any of you are interested in going for a flight sometime let me know and I will take you up for a spin.

What do you fly, Jeff?
Hi Jeff, I was the one who stopped you in the hall one evening before CERT class, because you had an AOPA shirt on! I was leaving as you were coming in.
Last year I had the unique opportunity to fly to New York City with a caravan of 5 other planes and their pilots, we all received clearance to circle Lady Liberty at maybe 1400 ft and we saw where Capt. Sully landed in the Hudson, and the Aircraft Carrier, Intrepid, it was very cool!
Then we proceeded to land for lunch in New Jersey and flew back, just for a fun day trip. It was a great day, well except for the pilot who slid on the ice while landing and bent the wing tip of her airplane; for her; not such a good day.
That group is made up of pilots, like you, who love to fly and share their passion with others. Unfortunately, I don't appreciate the experience as much as I could... typically I exit the aircraft at 14,000 ft and flying at such a low altitude put a different perspective on my favorite sport of skydiving so I don't tag along as much as I would like. Though I will always be grateful for that unique experience.
Well, now that I won't be spending so much time on CERT related projects I'll have more time to visit this site and see how much it grows.
TRIVIA: Bet ya didn't know that Anne Culver, the CERT President is/was also a pilot!
Congratulations on completing class.
Cyndi
Thanks for the info but I don't own an AOPA shirt. I am a member though. I also went sky diving once and it was fantastic. just have not had the opportunity to do it again. It is now officially on my short list.
Jeff.
whoops! It was someone in your class, I made the connection because of your comments above. oh well...

Heck... I don't even have a shirt. I've been a member for more than a decade.
Great organization, but now I want my t-shirt! Better yet... I want a polo! lol

Jeff, have you ever thought of flying rescued animals? Check into http://pilotsnpaws.org/ ! -- Suzi
So Dave, do you ever get the urge to figuratively look down upon us ground dwellers stuck in gridlocked traffic and holler out something like 'suckers'? haha
But then, up there you don't have speed camera's to light up your rear view mirror like we do!
Glad you made it back safely!
