Event Description

Dear Prepared Community Members,
This year on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, Monday January 16th, the American Red Cross will be distributing fire prevention information in Silver Spring and Germantown. The morning will kick off in Silver Spring at 9:00am with a light breakfast and event overview where you will hear from Chief Bowers. You will also receive event information such as talking points and area maps.
Teams will canvass the community from 10:00am-2:00pm and return to the meeting point to share their experience over lunch. The day will wrap up around 3:00pm. All volunteers are welcome! Come on your own or bring your family. Youth are welcome but must have a guardian. This event qualifies for school service hours; students must bring associated paperwork on the day of the event.
If you are available to volunteer please send an e-mail to vp@montgomerycert.org with your name and cell phone number by COB on Friday, January 13th.
Thank you,
Set up on behalf of Denise Gilmore - Vice President, Montgomery County CERT
For those Prepared Community members who might be interested in being part of Montgomery County CERT or would like to get active with outreach - this can be a great opportunity to get involved, meet some current CERT membership, and do some good raising awareness in our community.
